I often go to Yokohama city for work recently. Yokohama has many historic buildings, and there is exoticism.

The photograph is the Port Opening Memorial Hall with sunset of June.

Photo by myself of the mysterious dog at the entrance of a building of 1, Ginza.

This dog is a sculpture, but seems to come out of the wall.
The face is expressionless, and I feel slightly sorry.

There is nothing worth special mention about it.
But it's my usual commuter line.

Today, Hata3 and my partner went for a drive to Yokohama city. Yokohama is about 1 hour by car from the town where we live in.

At first I stoped my car in the public parking lot which there is underground of Pacifico Yokohama of the Minato Mirai district, and we walked in the neighborhood of "Pukari pier".

Though "Pukari pier" (above photo) looks like a building, in fact, it is a wharf of sea bus floating in the sea. There is a nice seafood restaurant on the second floor. Unfortunately it was chartered today.

Afterwards we went to the Red Brick Warehouse on the sea bus. Then we enjoyed walk slowly to Oosanbashi (a large pier) from there.

Now, various events are opened under the name of "A Grand Exposition for Yokohama's 150th Year" in Yokohama city. The year 2009 marks the 150th anniversary of the 1859 opening of the Port of Yokohama.

Because it was fine today and many couples and families were everywhere, we became somewhat happy.

Photo by myself on the road around the south exit of the Shinjuku station.

A man was sleeping on the road. I don't know whether he is a homeless or not. He may have got drunk. In either case, it was the sad situation that was sleeping on a street under the hot weather of temperature 36 degrees. But nobody minds it.

I sometimes feel the quiet rhythm from an artificial construct.

Since the Osaka Expo in 1970, moving walkways were broadly installed in big commercial facility in Japan. This photo by myself of the moveing walkways of Ebisu Garden Place in Shibuya ward, Tokyo. It's very long!

To tell the truth, I don't really like the moving walkways so much......

Photo by myself, looking onto the NTT DoCoMo Yoyogi Building from Shinjuku Southern Terrace.

The appearance of this building looks so much alike the Empire State Building in New York City. I was surprised very much when this building was completed in September 2000.

The NTT DoCoMo Yoyogi Building is located in Shibuya ward of the Tokyo metropolitan area. This building is something out of the ordinary that houses few offices, but contains mainly technical equipment for NTT DoCoMo's cellular telephone service. 080623-Doughnuts_Store.jpg
A while ago, I got some doughnuts from my neighbor and I heard that she has waited up to 1 hour for buying her doughnuts. Unbelievable!!! 1 hour for doughnuts!

I didn't know anything about the doughnuts store, but I had found it by a chance. There is hot doughnuts store in Shinjuku Southern Terrace, a kind of commercial facility in the front of the south exit of Shinjuku station.

This doughnuts store is the first Krispy Kreme Doughnuts store in Japan, opened in 2006. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is a famous American chain of doughnuts store, founded by Vernon Rudolph in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on July 13, 1937. I didn't know anything about that.

On the day I found that store, many of people also had lined up for buying doughnuts and posted some guards at the entrance. Good grief!

Last Sunday, I found an unusual vehicle that was a cycle taxi on the street of Ginza. That body has very striking color, so everybody looked back at it.

After I got home, I checked that vehicle with the website. Then I found a web page of Velotaxi and the page says as follows:

Velotaxi is a cycle taxi that was developed in German capital Berlin in 1997 as "the vehicle that the new transportation system which is kind to environment and an advertisement to move become one".

I didn't know that!

A few days ago, Hata3 and my partner went to the "Tokyo City View". That is an observatory in the large commercial complex named "Roppongi Hills" in Roppongi district, Tokyo.

Since Roppongi Hills opened five years ago, a flood of highly ambitious young millionaires of the IT industry have made the Hills their home. Many of Japanese media, calling these people the "Hills tribe", took a peek into their unusual lifestyles. But now, Roppongi Hills is only one of the inner-city tourist spot for us.

These photos, with a breathtaking vista of the Tokyo city, were taken at the "Tokyo City View" in Roppongi Hills.
